PushMod 3.1 – Auto Check Email Every Minute on your iPhone .. Almost like Push

PushMod

PushMod is a mod that allows you to change your email settings so that it checks for new email every minute. Once you install the app, you will need to go into your stock Settings application and then the Fetch New Data options…here you can select the Every 1 Minute option. You do not need to turn the Push feature On…it will automatically override that. That’s it, now your iPhone will check for new email every minute (this will update the badge on your email icon every minute as well).//

This app seemed to work fine for me. I tested it, sending an email to both of the email accounts I have set up on my iPhone and it worked…it updated my badge (saying I had another new email) within one minute of when I sent the email. It also worked when I deleted emails (it updated my badge saying I had fewer new emails within one minute of when I deleted them). I haven’t tested this app long enough to know it’s affects on battery life but, I’m assuming it will massively drain your battery. Let me know in the comments if you plan on using this mod and if you have noticed any battery drain from it.

You can get PushMod via the modmyi source.

Note: This app does not add an icon to your SpringBoard, it is just a code mod. To remove the app, just uninstall it (or change your email Settings back to your previous settings).

Rogers Wireless and their horrible Customer Service on the iPhone 3G S. What happened to loyalty?

So I recently purchased an iPhone 3G 8GB from rogers 2 months ago, at the price of $199 + regular bullshit fees. Now it is $99 and the iPhone 3GS comes in at $199 now on a 3 year term.

When the iPhone was released I spoke with Rogers about the opportunity, because of such a recent purchase to be able to upgrade or trade in at a discounted price, or at the least, credit my account.

After ridiculous robot-like responses, this is what they told me.

“Dear Nick,

In your recent email, you have informed us that you need to know the
full retail price of the iPhone 3G S 8GB model.

The iPhone 3G S is available with 16GB or 32GB, the 8GB iPhone is the 3G
model.

Device-only pricing (no term)
8GB iPhone 3G: $599
16GB iPhone 3G S: $699
32GB iPhone 3G S: $799

Rogers.com online pricing (no term)
8GB iPhone 3G: $580
16GB iPhone 3G S: $680
32GB iPhone 3G S: $780

WinterBoard (0.9.2958-2), WinterBoard Settings (0.51) & Mobile Substrate (0.9.2958-1) now works on 3GS! Available in Cydia 3.0

Saurik has just released a new update of MobileSubstrate and Winterboard. This updates adds the compatibility with the iPhone so 3Gs, so from now you can use custom themes on the new device.

To update / install the two applications you only need to launch Cydia and look in the “Changes” or “Search”.

I will post some screenshots later if it’s significant enough. I only have an iPhone 3G at the moment.

Scrobble tracks to last.fm from your iPod/iPhone Now working on OS 3.0

Tonight Scrobbl was released on the BigBoss repo that works for iPhone OS 3.0.

Last.fm is an internet radio station and music community that records the tracks you listen to, and creates charts and personalised radio stations based on your musical tastes.

Now working in iPhone OS 3.0! I’m a fan of this because it’s always interesting to go back and see your listening pattern.

Every track you play will tell your Last.fm profile something about what you like. It can connect you to other people who like what you like – and recommend songs from their music collections and yours too.
